DESCRIPTION: Up to 11mm in length. One of the green Mirid Bugs that needs to be carefully identified with the large size and elongate shape immediately distinctive. Note must be made of the long 1st antennal segment and the black thin collar behind the head. The base of the scutellum is sometime narrowly darkened. The eyes are relatively large and more often than not have a reddish coloration. BEHAVIOUR: A polyphagous species with a fondness for Nettles. DISTRIBUTION: Uncommon to frequent in upland areas and northern places that are damp and have the right foodplant. HABITAT: Damp meadows, hedgerows and open woodland glades. PERIOD: May to August.
